Language is beautiful

I haven't been in a good mental shape lately but it all realy came to a head when one of my friends said:

Z head teacher si nedelej hlavu.

Hilarious!

Bye bye, Zuzko

I always feared that while I'm in Malaysia one of my grandparents might pass away. It would've been my first death and I feel I should be there when it happens. I should share my part in the immense struggle of not knowing what to do or say. At the very least, I should say 'bye bye' at the funeral. I should... or rather I'd like to.

Now my cousin died of heart failure at the age of 22. The news took me aback. One moment I weep, then it escapes me for an hour or so and when it comes back again I can't believe it's true.

She always wanted to know about my travels but now I won't be able to tell her...

Lessons learnt

There are some people who I find annoying or even outright rude. But then something is telling me that it might be simply their insecurity and what is more, that insecurity might well have something to do with me.

More amazing still, when confronted with cordial hospitality and smile the very same people can change on the spot. Unlike me who acts like an asshole and mirror all negative emotions back, some people have this gift to bring up the better in people.

Something is telling me too, that in Christianity there is lots of stuff on this subject.

Unless You Become a Child

Children meant everything to Jesus. Head Teacher

Almost exactly a year after my arrival I was appointed as Head Teacher and I am going to move to Alor Setar with Hanka, a new teacher from the Czech Republic.

I can envisage new challenges. I thrive on it. That's what keeps me going here.
